It started with a question about an action and climaxed with an argument about whether they should be together at all.
Harry showed Esther the news article, and when he was sure she’d read it, he asked her, “So what are we going to do about this?”
She looked up calmly and asked him, “Who do you mean we, and about what?”
“You know what’s going to happen. What kind of plan is it to absorb these kids back into their communities? Who are they kidding? They’ll be throwing them into the street. More homeless children who will have to steal or they’ll starve.”
“And it’s up to you to solve it? Are we back to talking about how it’s the duty of white men to fix Africa?”
“Do you think those politicians are doing this so the orphanages can’t come back at them for money?”
