Chapter 4Ryan can’t count the times anxiety has made him regret joining this band over the past week, but he’s going into this week hopeful he’ll find his place and things will start getting easier. Luke and Simon had been doing their best to make him feel welcome, sure. But he wants to break a barrier with one of his bandmates. Just one friend in the band, at least, to give him a sense of real acceptance to counteract the constant intrusive thoughts that they are all simply tolerating him. After spending the weekend moving into the apartment and trying to find ways to fit in with the band, he’s relieved to be back at work where he can focus on the one thing they do all have in common.
