Vanessa hurriedly began turning every page, all the while checking the numbers at the bottom. All the remaining pages were intact. Just the last page dealing with Vinea was missing. They had been able to learn all about Vinea's origins, his powers and his allies, but the way to defeat him was still a mystery.
Mortimer almost broke the table in rage. "Out of all the damn pages, this had to be the missing one! It's all useless now!"
"I might still be able to piece together the missing page." Vanessa said. There was a spell which she could use to create images of missing items. Placing her left palm on the penultimate page, she chanted a long incantation, but nothing happened.
"Miss Chase, this isn't any ordinary book. You cannot piece together what's been intentionally removed from it,"
