The iron gate blocking the entrance to the dungeon was fitted with sturdy bars. David grabbed the bars with both hands and made an attempt to open the gate, but it was locked. Breaking that gate was impossible, even with his demonic strength.  Vanessa chanted her incantations and tried to use an unlock spell on the gate, but once more her magic didn't work.
