CLARA’S POV
“After a careful review of the case brought before us,” one of them said about two hours later, when they crouched out of the inner room like a wake of vultures, “and in the event of no opposition, the council hereby holds nothing against Alpha Dominic. No charges shall be pressed and this issue shall remain a thing of the past. Alpha Dominic, you are free to do as you please and with any woman of your choice.”
Dominic’s expression remained impassive. He nodded to the council and walked out of the hall without saying a word. Henry nudged me slightly and we both rose to our feet and bowed slightly at the council, who didn’t even acknowledge our respectful gesture. Henry shrugged as we walked out of the room, visibly annoyed at their arrogance.
