DOMINIC’S POV
“The elders have called a meeting.”
I stared up at the ceiling, wondering why I even had to be awake so early when I was the Alpha and could do whatever I wanted. Kevin was at my bedside, sweeping aside the blinds that covered the glass doors of the balcony, allowing the rays of the morning sun diffract into the room. Thankfully, they weren’t aimed at my eyes.
“Did you hear what I said, Dominic?” Kevin asked.
“No,” I replied grumpily, “I just want to sleep, Kevin. Go away?”
He shook his head and through my blurry gaze, I could see the false sympathy in his eyes. “You were the one who decided to sit by the fire with that bastard all night,” he remarked, “you’d have been sleeping like a baby.”
“Had a huge dinner, couldn’t come straight to bed.”
