As she sits there, she stands up and says to herself, "I will not let a little fire burn me!". She contacts one of her coworkers, who'd be happy to let her stay the night. Since all her things burned in the fire, her first stop is getting what essentials she could afford. The next morning wasn't an easy one. However, she's grateful to not have been in that horrid fire. She works tirelessly, doing her best to make up (at least a small part) of the money she has saved. Pouring herself into work seemed the best decision at the time. As she kept getting more and more business, the outcome looked better than expected. The next second, a tall man walks in. He looks exhausted and sexy. She didn't think someone like him could be tired. She thinks of more money and more problems. Reluctantly, she brings him a cup of coffee. He glances up at her, and gives a slight smile. As she stares into his eyes, thinking about how sad his eyes are. Quickly, she takes his order and scatters to do some of her side work. Once the man's order is ready, she includes the special dessert. Hoping it may cheer him up, but also not in a flirtatious way. He sees her gesture is a kind one and offers her a deal. A few moments ago he had overheard her coworkers talking. Just barely enough for him to hear. About how the girl's apartment was burned with all her belongings. Suddenly, he had a great idea. Just so happens, he has plenty of rooms available. He says she could stay with him for some time. Being professional, of course. After thinking for a few moments, she says she'd like his name to check if he's a serial killer or not. A halfhearted laugh comes from him. Understanding her statement, although it caught him off guard. He hands her his business card. Possibly a bit too obvious, she looks him up. Turns out he's the most eligible bachelor in the city. Daniel Monroe. She glances back at him to ensure it's really him. As she scrolls, she finds he built his business from nothing. Pleasantly pleased to see he's hardworking and offering her too good an opportunity to pass up. She goes back to his table with a serious expression. As she sits, he says, "What are your terms for agreeing with this arrangement?". She takes a few moments to decide her answer. Then says, "Mr. Monroe, I'd like to get replacements for all the clothing I lost in the fire. Also, the necessities would be appreciated as well." He gave her a nod. "Anything else Miss?". Not wanting to be greedy, she shakes her head. At the end of the day, Megan is finishing up the final tasks. Once outside, she sees that Mr. Monroe had been patiently waiting for her. She felt relieved knowing she would be living with someone who is so considerate. Upon arriving at the mansion, they entered through a gated entrance. Megan thought to herself how rich this guy is. Once parked in the garage, there were many cars just like the one they arrived in. After being given a brief tour of the place, she settled into her room. There she found a fresh pair of clothes, and a few things to clean herself up with. She took it upon herself to take a much-needed shower. Once she felt more presentable, she headed downstairs.
