Chap 22 – Personalised Menu & Fair

LUNA POV

“Are you ready to order?” he asks once the host and waitress left our room. I look down at my hand on my lap unsure how to say what’s in my mind. 

“Neil, give us a few minutes”, I hear him say to the man who has been standing near the door without a sound. The moment the door closed, Ekon walked to me and turned me to face him. Kneeling in front of me he takes my fidgeting hand in his left and uses his right to lift my chin. 

Eyes still casted down when he says softly, “what is it baby?”. My eyes flipped up astonished by his endearment to me. “Luna”, he called again. I ignored his endearment though it sparked a lost feeling.

“I maintain a strict diet plan. So, I do not have any idea what these menu and recipes consist. I’m sorry”, I said hesitantly while looking at our hands.

“Listen baby, I’m no expert but I know you have a non-fat diet when I looked through your pantry and fridge today. I don’t want you to feel shy or reluctant around me. You have all rights to ask me for anything you need okay?”, he said as he caressed my wrist with his thumb.

I nod my agreement. “I still wouldn’t know what to order. I’ve never had food in any eatery before. I have always had homecooked meals”, I tell him looking at him.

“Ever?” he asks. I look down and shake my head. I could feel his eyes on me. After a few brief seconds he kissed my head causing me to look at his ocean blues eyes. It was swarming with care, compassion and… LOVE?

“Shall I order for the both of us then?”, he asks breaking my thought before I could analyse further. “Okay”, I agreed. 

I had the best lunch so far. He ordered baked salmon and organic salad with lemony olive dressing. I was thankful that he understood my need without asking. Also, for not probing on my selection of diet. Though I’m sure he has his doubts.

After lunch we got into his car and he drove us to our next destination. I don’t remember sleeping. I woke up to soft knuckles caressing my cheek and a whisper of my name. I was so soothing I could have fallen back to sleep but, a kiss to my cheek walk me up in an instant. It was an unfamiliar feeling but a good one indeed. His touch and kisses sends thousand volts of electricity down my spine. I look into a pair of blue eyes that I have grown accustomed to. He smiled at me with adore and I returned it with my own smile.

I gasped in surprise when I saw my surrounding and laughter bubbled in me. I have never felt so happy before. I felt Ekon pulling me out of the car and to the fair. I was so excited to be here that I didn’t realise the eyes that were observing me. It was a canine fair. I’ve always wanted to participate in one but my condition didn’t permit me as it will tire me out. 

I looked up at Ekon to see him already looking at me with a grin. I could not withhold my emotions and threw myself at him. He caught me as I held onto his neck hugging him tight as I thank him repeatedly. He laughed happily as held me close by my waist. He kissed my forehead and cheeks before pulling away with one wrapped around my waist. I was blushing by the time I pulled away from him.

Leo was excited as I was. He was ecstatic seeing all the different canine breeds, games and treats. His wouldn’t stop wagging his tail as his eyes continuously observed his surroundings. We laughed and played for some time. 

Ekon shopped for treats and accessories as well as toys of Leo’s choosing. I got the three of us a cute canine t-shirt. I sat under the tree resting as I watched Ekon and Leo compete in games. He wanted me to be Leo handler but declined his offer as I knew that I can’t exhaust my heart capacity. I persuaded Ekon to do it instead of me.

I took pictures and videos of them as I support them from the side lines. Leo won two games and I was proud of both my boys. My boys… THEM would be appropriate.
