THE DISFAVOR

925 Words
On a cold Monday morning, I jumped out of bed quickly, despite the fact that I needed to organize a lot of things in my head. Returning to school was daunting for me because I'm starting my master's degree. As I stare, I organize my thoughts on how to start my day as efficiently as possible. I've realized how quickly time passes, and I've noticed some significant changes in myself that I don't want to regret in the future. TIME, I believe, was the most important. "Lola Rosita," I inquire, "what's for breakfast?" "Good morning, "mujer joven," Rosita replied in a polite manner. I made something special for you today because I know it's your special day. with a beaming grin I was extremely fortunate to have Rosita in our lives; she was like my caring mother when I was a child. Rosita was born in Mexico and raised there. She was only 17 at the time when she decided to get a job to support her family, and she had already become a part of our lives. Rosita delivered the big breakfast, that included egg and bacon sausages, as well as the primrose tea, which I particularly enjoyed. The tea's primitive scent calms and relaxes me throughout the day. "Gracias," Rosita. Sarah smiles contentedly. Mr. Perkins had left a note and said, "I'll hand it to you," Rosita explained. She handed me a small note with my name 'Sarah' written on it. It specifically states that he will be out for several days due to a business trip in London. "Wait," I was astounded. Why wasn't he informed me about this trip? I called my father on his phone out of curiosity, but his phone was out of reach. I was wondering where all of this was coming from. My mind was racing with questions. It's nearly ten o'clock. I'll be late for school, so as I climbed into my matte black vehicle, I turned on my favorite artist music, Tracy Chapman, whose songs I adore. It's a soothing sound in my ears. By then, I'd arrived at school in about 30 minutes from home, as if it were my first day of junior high. Alyssa Taylor, one of the best friends I've ever had since then, has finally found a different way of life now that I'm working on my PHD master's degree. "Sarah," she yelled at me, as if going back in time was pointless. She definitely likes to wear dresses, and she likes pink combinations of all kinds. Her blond, blue-eyed, fair skin complexion astounds everyone who sees her beauty. "Hey, Girl, what have you been up to?" With a big smile on my face, I yelled. We hugged each other as if there wasn't going to be another day. Maybe we can get some coffee later? We have so many things to discuss. Alyssa exclaimed with glee. Sure, after class, I added.  My first day of class has concluded. Everyone has struggled to make a new beginning by earning a master's degree. PHD, in doctorate, in New York's most prestigious and diverse school district. As I walked down the hallway, I realized Alyssa waiting next to her BMW, as if she was waiting for the man of her dreams. She is, in fact, waiting for her best friend, who happens to be me. "Hey, girl, let's go!" she yelled. Alyssa and I were sitting next to each other in a fancy outside door coffee shop in New York called Veniero's Pasticceria & Caffe. So, how is Steven getting along? Alyssa inquired, a curious smile on her face, Dad is currently out of the country, he has urgent matters to attend to. What happened after all of this time? You'll be completely unshackled by then. Alyssa burst out laughing, as if she couldn't believe what she was hearing. Steven, she insisted, had been overly protective of you since childhood. As a father, I understand his authority, but it was sometimes too much for me. Yes, Alyssa said unequivocally. So, what's the deal with the business? Is there a recent update? Are you going to be a millionaire now, and if so, in what year? Alyssa's face is flushed with curiosity. So, as a treat, I went with my dad to his Enterprise reunion yesterday, which was totally wrong for me since I'm not good at socializing. But then I met this guy, I explained. He's a really good-looking, handsome young man, and I believe we were schoolmates in junior high. Alyssa was perplexed as she tried to figure out what I meant. So, who is he? She asked, her face exaggerated. Do you remember Daniel Blake? As I tactfully inquired. Who! So, what about Daniel Blake? Alyssa's cheekbones are flushed. That lunatic! He's a total creep. What about him, Sarah? Please don't tell me you like him, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no Alyssa, with a pleading tone. Yes, I know Daniel, but Sarah, he's completely bizarre. That guy, on the other hand, he has no friends. While Alyssa was disappointed, I was deeply disheartened by what I was hearing about Daniel. He's is like a god-like package deal for me, as if he has something that everyone else doesn't, and I'm not sure what it is. Meanwhile, I invited Alyssa to come home early because I was exhausted. We kissed and hugged goodbye and as I hopped into the front seat of my car. I can't believe what I'm seeing a black rose!.
