The streets are crowded as I walk on the streets, people chattering as they see me. I ignore them, happily walking.
I never thought Calvin would give me permission to go out on the streets, much less give me permission to shop! It started after breakfast, when I complained I was getting bored inside. He had just laughed, asked if I needed anything. I said I just wanted some fresh air, and he agreed.
I had planned on going on a walk, but he stopped me. He gave me a bag, a credit card in it. I was shocked. He said that these were the perks of being his wife. I said that I didn't care about the perks, I cared about him... and maybe Jason. He knew about Jason, but I told him that was it, I didn't need money for anything else, just for my brother's health.
Still, he gave me my very own credit card, with no choice but to accept. So, here I am, at a Gucci store, ready to buy some things.
I debated on clothes or shoes, and decided on both. Yes, I know, lucky me. I picked a black Gucci shirt, jeans, and beautiful white shoes. Perfect... Except Calvin needed some clothes. I pulled out my phone, gift from him. I blush, remembering how much I insisted he buy me a more economic phone. He agreed... and brought me that newest IPhone. When I asked him why, he said that that was the most economic phone he could get.
I type quicky on the phone, a smile on my face.
How do you feel about matching outfits?
The response comes quickly, and it's so sweet how he's actually checking his phone, unlike other men.
Please don't tell me you're getting me the same outfit as you!
I laugh.
Bad luck for you, hon, because that's exactly what I'm doing.
While waiting for him to answer, I quickly go to a dressing room, put on the outfit, and snap a picture, sending it to him. I blush as I read his response, clutching my shirt.
Cute. I like the shirt, you make it look like a diamond.
Is that a pun, Mr. Diamond?
Maybe.
So, should I buy it? It's not that expensive, and I'm not buying anything else...
Sure, buy it. Also, don't doubt in buying things you want, okay?
I have to, you know. I can't buy stuff and waste your earned money, that you deserve for your hard work.
You're too cute, but whatever, dear. I love you, okay?
Okay, love you too.
I turn off my phone, getting ready to pay, when I spot a certain someone walking down the street. It's Zack. Before I can even turn away, he spots me. Oh sh*t!
The clerk is paying when he enters the store.
"Rose?" I cringe, as he says my name. His favorite maroon shirt that I used to love, and his usual ripped jeans... He wasn't as poor as me, his parents were teachers, and we met at Jason's parent teacher conference.
I don't answer, praying the clerk pays quickly, so I can go.
Ding!
My phone alerts me, and I stupidly take it out. A text from Calvin. I don't bother looking at it, knowing my stupid mistake.
"So you won?" he says, in a tight voice. I nod quickly, as the clerk puts the stuff in bags. "Oh..." he says. His shaggy dark hair falls over his eyes as he looks down. "D-does he treat you well?"
"Yes, actually. He's really sweet."
"Ah, yes. The usual billionaire," he says, a mean sarcastic tone. I frown.
"He's really nice, I'm not lying." The clerk passes me the bags, and I walk towards him.
"I take it you're just wasting his money, huh?" he says, a low tone. I clench and unclench my fists, debating on whether to punch him.
"I am not! Unlike what you think, I'm actually respectful. So you know, he actually forced me to do this, I just wanted some air!"
"So now he's forcing you? Not letting you get air? What a bastard!"
"Don't call Calvin that! And, I'm saying this in a good way. He's the one giving me this, he wants to treat me like a queen," I say, avoiding his gaze.
He sighs. I turn to leave, but he grabs my wrist, pulling me towards him. I'm so close to him that his hair tickles my nose.
"I miss you," he says, in a pleading tone. "I still love you, Rose."
I blush. "I'm sorry, Zack, but I'm Calvin's wife now."
"F*ck Calvin! F*ck marriage! You belong with me, I know you still have feeling for me!" He yells, his lips hovering over mine, and suddenly he kisses me, those lips from the past rubbing against mine.... those all too familiar lips licking my own, those lips that I used to die for, those that I used to wait until nightime to escape from my house and into our tree house, in order to kiss those lips. I can't help but kiss him back, but only for a moment, a small second. He pulls back, breathless. "Please, Rose, tell me the truth. Do you still love me? Do you still have at least a small bit of feelings for me?"
"Yes," I admit, tears forming.
"I knew it," he says, a small smile on his lips. "Don't worry, I promise I'm going to make you mines again."
Before I can protest, he's already gone, his beautiful hair blowing in the wind, that sweet, determined smile on his face. I sigh, worried. I told him I still loved him, I told him the truth. Even though I don't want to admit it, I love two men. And I don't know who to pick!
Stepping out of the stores with the bags in my hand, I reach out for my phone to see what Calvin had texted me, and I smile as tears fall down from my eye.
I can't wait for us to wear the outfits and show everyone what a couple we make.
I hug the phone to my chest, catching my breath.
I'm in love with two men, and I'm stuck on which one to pick.
F*ck.
