EPISODE 7

1060 Words
My eyes adjust to the dim light, and I see a person walk in. I wonder who it is, when the person begin to speak. "Are you alright, dear?" a male voice asks. It's not his voice that makes me recognize him, its his nickname he used to address me. "Calvin?" I ask, surprised at how unusual my voice sounds. It's raspy, so raspy. I cringe. He walks closer, slipping his hand underneath my head, hugging me, cradling me. "Yes, it's me. Do you remember what happened...." he asks, worried. Concern is all over his face, and I feel bad for him. "No," I say, quite not remembering what caused me to end up here. "Oh, dear. Well, it was about your mother." My mother! I immediately remember, the memories flooding back to me. All of it. "Oh!" I let out a cry, pain suddenly overwhelming me. Calvin screams for a nurse, as I think... what is happening to me? Why did I collapse during our argument? Why? Then I remember something. That day when Jason was admitted to the hospital, he had been having an attack. He said he couldn't breath... just like me. I gasp for air, as the realization hits me. I have asthma. A nurse suddenly comes, pressing an inhaler against me, oxygen filling my lungs again. I breathe out a sigh of relief, but both the nurse and Calvin seem worried. "Did you tell her?" asks the nurse. "No," Calvin responds, looking down at the floor with guilt. I gulp, unsure of where this is going. Or do I know...? "Honey, I'm afraid you have been diagnosed with asthma. Apparently, it's hereditary in your family. I heard a family member has asthma too? Anyway, you will need the following medications and an inhaler. Mr. Calvin kindly decided to pay for everything, including the admission of your brother into this hospital, and all his medications will also be paid by him." "Thank you," I thank Calvin. He nods, a small smile on his face. I turn to the nurse, thanking her too. She nods and leaves. "I'm glad you're okay, I was afraid you'd—" "Don't worry, Calvin. I'm okay now. Thanks for helping me and my brother, seriously. Also, I wanted to talk to you. I wanted to tell you that yes, I did marry you at first because of your money, because of Jason, and because of my mother. But now that I've gotten to know you... I love you." "Really? You don't know how long I've been waiting for you to say those words!" he gushes, and I smile. "I do know... 3 days?" He erupts into laughter, his broad chest rumbling beneath me. I hug him, happy that we understand each other now. *** I look up at the door, worried and anxious to know if it's the right one. Room 501 "It is the room, don't worry," Calvin assures me. I nod, and knock the door, entering. I hear a tiny gasp, and recognize the oh too familiar voice. "Rosey! It's you!" Jason gasps. I giggle, hugging him tight. "Izzat your new husband?" he asks, looking at a blushing, nervous, Calvin. I laugh, and blow Calvin a kiss, which makes him blush even more. "Yes, I am," he says. "Oh! Are you nice?" "Jason!" I nudge him, but Jason sticks his tongue out. "Yes... It appears your sister likes that!" I blush, as Jason laughs. "So, how are you, buddy?" his voice is caring, and his intimidating eyes are softening. I bite my lip, eyeing his full lips move as he talks... oh, what is wrong with me? "Good! Thanks for everything!" he says. Calvin smiles, clearly liking Jason's gratitude. "And don't worry, you're going to get better in no time," Calvin assures, his dark brown hair tickling Jason's nose just like it does to me. "Like a superhero!" Jason says, and Calvin nods, and that's how they begin playing, Calvin looking like a young, happy, boy. And, I've got to admit it, he looks really cute like that. "Come play, dear," Calvin laughs, his usual intimidating eyes now sparkling with joy. "Dear? She's Rosey!" Jason says. "She prefers dear," Calvin whispers, and Jason nods. "Oh! Okay, come here, dear!" I giggle, but obey. Sitting by a loving Calvin and by my dear Jason, I'm feeling much better now even though the news aren't as good. Hours pass by quickly, and soon it's time to go. "Make sure to visit often!" Jason yells, and Calvin squeezes my hand, as if pleading we will go. I'm about to agree, when Calvin lights up and speaks up. "You mean you'll get to visit our house!" Calvin promises. Jason claps. "Is it really that big?" I give Jason the look, but he ignores me. Calvin smirks at me, as if wating for my response. "Fine! It's gigantic, bigger than a castle. There's endless rooms, there's endless places to go, there's so much land, too many pools, there's even a penthouse property just a few blocks away! Oh, and don't get me started on the food!" I yell, exasperated. I look up at Calvin. "Is that good enough, husband?" He gives me a satisfied smile. "Better than okay, dear. I'm glad you think that! Guess it's time to buy more property! Perks of being a billionaire!" I roll my eyes, but he smirks. We look at Jason, his expression wide-eyed, mouth open. "I need to go, you'll let me, right Ros— I mean dear?" I roll my eyes but nod. He and Calvin jump up and down, like little kids going on a sleepover. "Thanks mom," Calvin says, pressing a long, sweet kiss on my lips, his full, soft lips fulfilling me. It's worth letting my little 7-year old brother visit us if I get these kind of rewards... haha! I give Jason a long hug, kissing him softly on his forehead, and he kisses my cheek. "Stay safe buddy, okay. You'll visit in a few days, 'kay?" "'Kay." Calvin and him exchange a "secret superhero shake," as Calvin and Jason insist I call it. I sigh happily as we wave to Jason, and hold hands. I open the door, not bothering to look, and kiss Calvin softly. I turn around, and gasp, and exactly at the same time, another person gasps. "Rose?!" It's Zack.
