Night always seemed to frighten me. I always felt like someone was watching me, maybe multiple of these someone's.
I was laying in bed trying to sleep. I pushed myself over onto my right side, facing all the demons that weren't even there. I picked up my phone from the dresser beside my bed that acted as a side table. Turning it on, I was forced to shield my eyes from the blinding light. As I allowed my eyes to adjust, I could faintly read the time as eleven fifty-nine pm.
I quietly turned it back off, setting it down on my dresser to continue charging, and allowed my mind to wander off into my imagination.
My attention was caught as I heard a car's engine from down the road. As it passed by, with its high beams on, the light filled my room.
"CRASH"
Something hit the ground as my room became dark once again.
Jumping straight up in bed, I grabbed my phone again and turned the flashlight on. I shined it over to where the noise had come from, only to find that one of my picture frames, have fallen off my desk.
The picture frame was sitting in the corner of my desk, so it couldn't have simply fallen off. I also don't have any pets to blame.
I turned off the flashlight and set my phone back down on my dresser. Then I flipped over to by left side, facing the wall.
"Good night, demons." I whispered, as I tried my best to sleep and forget about this entire thing. Hoping it was only my imagination.
