Episode 2: The Forbidden Prophecy
Elaria barely had time to process her grandmother’s fear before the candles in her room flickered wildly, as if an unseen force had entered the space.
Her grandmother grabbed her wrist, yanking her close. “We must leave. Now.”
“What’s happening?” Elaria asked, her voice shaky.
The old woman didn’t answer. She pulled Elaria toward the chest at the foot of the bed and tore it open, revealing a bundle wrapped in dark cloth. She unwrapped it hastily, revealing an ancient book with a worn leather cover.
The title was barely visible, but Elaria could make out one word.
Prophecy.
Her grandmother flipped through brittle pages, stopping on one filled with inked symbols and a familiar crescent moon.
Elaria’s blood ran cold. The page spoke of a girl born with the moon’s mark, destined to break an ancient curse—or become the key to unleashing a great darkness.
A chilling howl echoed from the forest outside.
Her grandmother’s grip on her tightened. “They’ve found you.”
Elaria’s stomach twisted. “Who?”
Before her grandmother could answer, the door burst open. A hooded figure stood in the doorway, golden eyes gleaming in the candlelight.
“The time has come, Moon-Blessed,” the stranger said. “Run, if you want to live.”
