Pressing her cheek against Oba’s skin, Mandal felt the Africans woman fingers on her face and, then Oba sat, pushed her gently back, so that she was resting her behind on the heels of her boots. Bowing her chin just below the connection of her collarbones, Mandal lowered her eyes hoping that she had not passed some kind of hidden boundaries with what she had just done, as she had when at the bar with Mal. As if swaying black silk, Oba laid her fingers under Mandal’s quivering chin, lifted ever so carefully.
