Six months later
At Lover’s Lagoon, Chaney stretched out on the chaise lounge. She’d lost all sense of time, but the sun sinking lower in the sky told her dinner would arrive soon. That must be why Drake had hiked to the beach. Not that she was hungry. The bungalow’s kitchen had their favorite snacks, including a freezer full of ice cream. A good thing calories didn’t count on honeymoons. At least that was what Gem had said.
Grinning, Chaney held out her left hand to admire the engagement ring and diamond-encrusted wedding band. Colorful prisms reflected on the water, the bungalow, and the plants.
