Jaxon’s horse reared back in panic as he yanked the reins, his face twisted in a mixture of rage and terror. "To arms!" Jaxon screamed toward his lines. "Break their gates!"
Down below, the Blackthorn horns blared, signaling an immediate full-scale assault.
Inside the Citadel courtyard, two thousand elite soldiers of the Southern Citadel stood in rigid rank, their black shields locked, their spears raised toward the sky. They were not trembling; they were waiting for the command.
Gabriel turned to Calla, pulling off his gauntlet and placing his hand over hers. The static between them was no longer a flicker—it was a raging fire, uniting their strength into a single force.
"This is the moment, Calla," Gabriel said, his dark eyes burning with devotion. "We reclaim your kingdom today."
Calla drew her broadsword, pointing the blade toward the heavy iron gates as they began to lift.
"Open the gates!" Calla ordered, her voice echoing through the courtyard and into the hearts of every warrior present. "Let them see what happens when the lost Queen returns!"
With a thunderous roar, the soldiers of the Citadel charged forward, following Gabriel and Calla out into the valley to settle the score once and for all.
