POV: Kaelira "Everything will be fine," he whispered against my hair, and for the first time in weeks I let myself believe it completely. I stayed there a long while, my cheek pressed to his chest, listening to his heartbeat slow back to its normal steady pace, and neither of us said anything else because nothing else needed saying right then. Eventually he pulled back just enough to look at my face, brushing his thumb along my cheek. "You should sleep," he said. "Real sleep. Not the kind where you sit up counting shadows."
