Everyone was cheering and happy for Ashley and Damon...I wanted to be happy but I couldn’t..I kept staring at Damon hoping it was a dream but it wasn’t ...Part of me was heartbroken ?..feeling jealous I tried to hide my feelings so no one would notice..

“Let’s get out of here...Derrick said ..

Without hesitation I followed Derrick out of the party...

“Are you ok??...Derrick asked

“Oh yeah am fine...just a little cold...I said

“You’re lying..I know your jealous...

“How dare you say such a word...you barely even know me...I said angrily

He smiled

“I know you like Damon that’s why you are jealous....

I was a bit surprised to what Derrick said...

“I saw the way you looked at him when the announcement was made..so I figured if out...

“Your right..I won’t deny it..I grew feelings for him ..it’s not my fault I am trying to end the feelings so I won’t let Ashley down...

“Hey hey..don’t force it..if it’s meant to be it will be and if it’s not then the universe will find someone better for you...Derrick said

“Should I drive you home or do you wanna have some fun ...

“Nah..I think I should go I feel tired...

Derrick gave me a ride back home..throughout the ride I wasn’t paying attention to anything..I kept remembering the look on Damon face..I kept thinking about the announcement..how happy Ashley was ..”AM I A BAD FRIEND “ I kept thinking to myself..soon Derrick was at my apartment..

“We are here...Derrick said

“Thanks buddy..I really appreciate it..

I was about leaving the car when Derrick held my hands...

“Phoebe don’t beat yourself up..if you need anything call me ok??...

I nodded in response and got out of the car..I waved at Derrick as he zoomed out..I was alone outside my apartment..I walked into my room sluggishly..my eyes wear almost tearing ? up..I layed on my bed and tried to control my tears...”GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF PHOEBE...I said to my self trying to cheer my self up...I thought of Damon I last time and decided to let go of him...

I slowly closed my eyes and dozed off

The streets of New York never sleeps ...the street of New York was back to life..I was awoken by the sounds of vehicles and morning singing birds ...

I woke up feeling much more better..I had decided to let go of Damon ..I made of cup of tea and opened the window the feel the fresh morning breeze..the streets of New York was alive..I felt much more better..

With a smiles I was about heading to the bathroom when I got a call from Becky...

?:I didn’t see you last night..did you leave early..you missed the after party..

?:oh am so sorry for not tell y’all..I had a stomach ache so Derrick had to take me back home..

We hunged up..I took a deep breath..I made up my mind to be happy for Ashley..No doubt that I like Damon but I have to give him up...other men are out there..

I dropped my cup of tea and went straight to the shower..I had a good time at the shower..i flossed and dried my hair..

Soon I was done ..I selected a good nice outfit for the day..did a little makeup and in minutes I was ready for the day..I grabbed my purse and walked out of my apartment to grab a cab...I got a cab and soon we were in the road...

“Hello again miss...the taxi driver said

“Hello???...i said trying to figure out who he was

“You Don’t recognize me??...he said as he turned to face me

It was the taxi driver I talked with the day Luke cheated on me..he took me to Luke’s apartment...

“OMG..am so sorry...I didn’t quite know you were the one...

“And how’s your boyfriend..I bet you guys are already engaged ..he said smiling

I sighed

“Well no we aren’t...it’s a long story..I caught him cheating on me the day you drove me to his apartment...

“Oh no..that’s messed up...that dude just lost a pretty flower...the taxi driver said trying to cheer me up.

I chuckled..

We soon got to my work place ..I dropped off from the taxi to pay him..

“Oh no no no..keep it..you’re like a daughter to me..

I smiled and thanked him for his generosity..I waved at him as he drove off..I was about opening my shop when I got an incoming call..it was was Damon..I was tempted to pick up..I wanted to hear his voice one last time..I kept staring at my phone,I concluded if I wanted to let go of Damon I must not pick up..I declined the incoming call and opened my work for business...

I changed the sign and did the cleaning..soon Derrick walked in ..

“Good morning Phoebe...

“Hey Derrick whatsup...I said

“Yeah the usual..how are you feeling..feeling better??...

“Yes..thanks to you am feeling good..I said smiling..

“Oh nothing..I just wanted to ask if you could close a bit early today..I wanted to take you out..

“Wait hold up..you’re hiring queen jay?...

I chuckled...

“You’re still gonna call him that??..really??

“I really need extra staff and Marcel seems energetic...

“Alright if you say so..I’ll go call him..Derrick said as he left to call Marcel

Soon business started..everything was going well the customers were satisfied and we were making money..we were soon interrupted when Ashley Damon and Becky walked in...

“Hey Phoebe..we are here...Becky said she she walked to the counter..

I was surprised seeing Damon ...he kept staring at me..perhaps he was wondering why I didn’t pick his phone calls...

“Hey what’s Damon doing here..I thought you said Ashley and you were the only one coming here..I said

Becky Ashley and Damon sat at a table having a conversation..I was about joining them when Derrick held my hands

“I know..but I have gotten over Damon..am very fine now..I said as I took off my apron..

I joined Ashley and becky at their table..they were discussing on Ashley’s engagement outfit..

“Hey Phoebe..Becky and I are having difficulty finding the right outfit..could you like pick a choice for me...Ashley said

“Uhhh..I don’t know guys..fashion isn’t really my thing you know...I thought you guys went shopping..

“Yeah we did but the clothes there was lame ?...Ashley said

“Wow that’s a boomer..so what are you gonna do??..I asked

“How about we go shopping ..come with us Phoebe..Ashley said

“Oh am sorry..I can’t..I have somewhere to with Derrick...

Damon immediately stared at me..I felt a little uncomfortable..I almost fell for his beautiful green eyes...

“I see..well I have to leave now..Damon do you wanna go shopping..Ashley said

Ashley and Becky left my coffees shop..I was about leaving when Damon held my hands..

His eyes were so sexy..I stared back at him with my mouth half opened..He his so perfect..I immediately got my self back together..

“Then why didn’t you pick up ..you left last night immediately you heard the announcement..I can definitely tell something is up..Damon said.

“Nothing is wrong Damon..I was having trouble with my stomach..that’s why I left and the reason I didn’t pick up was because I was cleaning ..is that enough???...i said with a stern face..

“OMg Damon I think you should go join your bride and let me be...please leave...

Damon left my coffee shop..I had no option I needed to do that to make sure my feelings for him died..I watched him as he left ..part of me regretted what I did...

“You regretting what you did now??..a voice behinds me said

I turned to look and behold it was Marcel a.k.a queen jay..???

“Wait hold up ..how did you get in ..I didn’t see you walk in..and were you watching us the whole time..I asked curiously

“Hell yeah..I watched your whole drama it was kinda nice..even tho you faked it..he said

“Uh.faked???..what do you mean...

“Girl duh..you know you like him and you are regretting what you just did...

“Are you kidding me right ..your assistant called me to come here..and I assumed I got the job right?...

“Ohh..yes I called for you..Uhh yes you’re hired ..now please can you go meet Derrick to show you how things work here and stop meddling in my personal life....

I sat alone thinking about what I just did..perhaps queen jay was right..I did fake it ..I wanted to get Damon off my back ..part of me hoped he came back so i could apologize to him and tell him how I feel...

I decided to get a hold of my self and get back to work...Derrick had shown Marcel how things worked and soon the three of us were in business...

Soon time was fast spent..it was already 4pm..Derrick walked up to me to remind me of our hangout...

“Hey Phoebe its 4pm already ..are you still available...

“Oh sure..I’ll lock up now..tell Marcel he his free to go...

I changed the sign and closed for the day..Derrick and I checked the sales for the day before leaving ...sales was very much better than before...having two helping hand was what I needed...I changed my clothe and walked outside with Derrick...

“So where are we going ...the park ,the theater.??...i asked curiously

“Oh no we are heading to the amusement park...

I chuckled...

“You just chuckled why??...Derrick asked smiling

“Oh nothing much..I just expected something much more exquisite from a Lawson..I teased him

We laughed..

Derrick stopped us a cab to get us down the the amusement park...The ride down to the park was fun..Derrick and I chit chatted and bought some popcorn in the traffic ..the ride was basically thrilling..

Soon we were at the park..everything was lively..the kids were joyful and happy with their parents...

Derrick and I got out of the cab ..

“Interesting...aren’t we kinda old for the rides here...I said

“Oh no ..I reserved us a couple section ..it’s more of our age..Derrick said as he held my hands and walked into the park..

We got to the section Derrick booked and yeah it was so much of our age..There were couple horse ride..the love carriage ..love hideout and many more fun things for couples..

“Uh Derrick are we couples..I asked teasing him

“Yes sure..for this moment we are..he said laughing..

We sat at a table to order our food..soon our food came and we digged in,..

“So how do you like here so far...Derrick asked

“Pretty cool....i hope it wasn’t expensive..

“Hnmm..yeah yeah ..it wasn’t ..

“Yeah it’s cool..

“We got along so fast like it’s been 4 days since we met..so we got so close like this..do you find it kinda weird

He chuckled..

“Well I don’t..perhaps we were meant to be friends from the beginning...what is meant to be will be remember??...

“Yeah ..true..

“So do you wanna have some fun??..

“Uh..I don’t know about that..those ride are for couples...

“Oh come on..let’s go ..we are couples for today remember??...he said as he held my hands

Derrick and i rode the couple horse ride..we had fun on the ride..we had a couple slow dance ?..Derrick held my waist ..he placed my Hands on his chest..Derrick was so fit..I felt his abs and muscles..The slow dance was very romantic..

“You’re a good dancer..I said to Derrick

“I told you I love dancing remember??...

“Yes that’s true..

“How about we take the couple’s roller coaster ?...do you wanna??..

“Yes sure..

Derrick and I rushed to join the queue..We had fun ,laughed and screamed during the ride...soon time was fast spent ...The park announced they were closing soon..

“Awn...I don’t wanna leave now...I love it here...I said

Derrick smiled

“Well gotta leave before the security kick us out...

We laughed ?

Derrick and I walked out of the park to stop a taxi..

“So will you be leaving now?...i asked Derick

“No..Am gonna follow you down to your house ...to make sure you get home safely...Derrick said

“Awn that’s so sweet of you...

Soon we got a cab and we were in the road..I was feeling kinda drowsy in the cab...My whole body got tired due to the fun we had ...I was asleep and didn’t even know when I paced my head on Derrick shoulder...

Derrick didn’t seem to mind...he smiled and placed my head well on his shoulder...

Soon we were at my place ..it was already 7pm...Derrick had to wake me up

“Hey Phoebe..we are at you place..he said tapping me

“Oh really...Thanks for the ride Derrick ...

“Anytime...call me if you need anything..he said as he held my hands staring at me ..

“Sure..I said smiling..

I dropped off from the cab and waved at Derrick as he left...I got into my apartment and layed on the bed..I felt a little relived haveing slept in the cab...I remembered the fun Derick and I had in the park...how he was sweet to me and how he made me totally forget about Damon...part of me still liked Damon ..but having Derrick around was a good way to let go of damon...Derrick was also a handsome young lad..with good fit body..he always smiled ..his smile were so charming..his dimples were cute..Derrick also got me staring at him...

I smiled and giggled as I remembered all that had happened at the park...

I was soon interrupted when I heard a knock on my ? door...

It was 7:30..I wasn’t expecting anyone..I curiously walked to the door..

“Who’s there...

“It’s me Phoebe..it’s Damon..

OMG Damon??..what was he doing at my place...

I was about shutting the door when Damon held it...
