Chapter 8Daylight spilled over the horizon and they continued to walk downstream. Tuxtax stumbled forward nervously as Em pointed out each landmark that brought them closer to his destiny. His pulse began to quicken as Alec’s aura thickened; soon he would be face-to-face with his soulmate and his new home.
The river emptied into a lake. They continued to follow the shore, with Em leading them forward.
“We’re almost there! This is Arnath’s lake! It feels so good to be home again.” Em said with an excited whoop.
“Arnath lives in this lake?”
She nodded, and pointed to a small island in the distance. “He and my Larissa live in a cave underneath that island.”
