The demons’ plan
Ten years have passed and Marsh3ll was now fifteen years old. He has been through tough times that no child should go through. He endure hardships coursed by people throughout the village. Children and elders would bully him by calling him names and hitting him. This happened so frequently that he decided to ask one of his mother’s friends Mrs Jones, (who was very kind to him and she would on occasion give him food when his mother wouldn’t) about the true about what happened the day he was born, and why people would bully him, because even though his mother tried so hard to make people stop hurting her son. They did not stop.
The demons have planned that Marsh3ll would be treated differently by the people of the village. Even though they love Khagura, they still had to treat the boy differently so that he will learn how people in the world would act around him in the future. During this time Khagura was planning to interact with Marsh3ll, in order to get into his good side and trust each other. Khagura already knew Marsh3ll’s personality like he knew the back of his hand, but he needed the boy to trust him.
So when Marsh3ll decided to go to Mrs. Jones’ house to find out way people were treating him so badly, Khagura planned to signal at Blq to let him know that the plan to emerge was in action. Blq knew what to do.
Marsh3ll: “Mrs. Jones, I would like to ask you if you would tell me if you know the meaning behind my name and what happened the day I was born.”
Mrs Jones: “Well, the day you were born was a weird one… she sighs. The night felt quiet, like there was little to no sound, as the moon started to appear in the sky. It was a full moon that night and it was big and beautiful. But what scared most people, even all, was the sudden change in the colour of the moon. From its grey colour to an orange red then to a dark blood like red… she took a sip of tea she had in her hand.”
Marsh3ll: “Well I know that, the things is, I don’t understand why people would fear or hate me so much.”
Mrs Jones: “I think the main reason is the fact that people knew you were born on that day or should I say that night, and it could also refer to the name your mother gave being Marsh3ll. Well, the name itself is a very unusual name. It is divided into two separate parts.”
Marsh3ll: “What do you mean it is divided into two parts? It is just a name, and my mother told me that it was given to her by an angel. So I don’t understand why people would fear a name so much.”
Mrs Jones: “Well based on the description given to me by your mother. The word ‘mars’ refers to the colour of the moon that appeared on that day. Mars is also a plant and it is red in colour. My dear boy. The word ‘hell’ refers to the extreme heat that was experienced that night, and the scary things that happened few minutes after you were born… she sighs and then takes a sip of her tea.”
Marsh3ll: “What happened that night that scared people?”
Mrs Jones: “Well… she paused… besides the extreme heat that was felt that night even though it was during winter. The animals were acting weird and rowdy, as if they were sensing something dark was coming. And you… she paused looking at the little boy sitting next to her.”
Marsh3ll: “What about me? What did I do that made mother hate me so much and people do not want their children to play with me?”
Mrs Jones: “Well… you were different from any new born baby that is born. I mean that when a child is born they cry a lot but you did not. At first we thought you were a still born but as we examined you, your eyes were wide open and you were looking around and your heart was also beating. Besides that your hair was deep red and as well as your eyes but when the sun raised your hair and eyes changed to the colour you see now which is dark brown… she sip her tea and continued to say… it was so shocking when they changed that I cannot forget the feeling of relief when it happened.”
As Marsh3ll was about to speak, their conversation was cut short. When Mrs Jones’ son walked in and started verbally harassing Marsh3ll. Hitting and yelling at Marsh3ll even when his mother tried to stop him. Mrs Jones was so hurt about what her son was doing to the poor boy that she told Marsh3ll to run away, which he did.
When Marsh3ll arrived home, covered in bruises.
Masontaha’s POV
Marsh3ll come home bruised up. The thing that scared me the most was his eyes which were blood red and his breathing was unsteady. But as soon as I called out his name, his eyes slowly changed back to their normal colour and also his breathing.
Masontaha: “What happened to you, son?”
Marsh3ll: “Tommy started hitting me for no reason.”
Masontaha: “What were you doing for him to bit you up so badly? Did you annoy him again?”
Marsh3ll: “No mother, I was just talking to his mother when he started verbal assaulting me then he hit me.”
Masontaha: “Then what?”
Marsh3ll: “Nothing, his mother asked me to leave to avoid me getting more injuries, or maybe it is because you named me after hell, that is why he hit me and called me demon boy.”
He said that while looking away from me. I could see that his red eyes were coming back so I decided not to ask too many question and just wait for him to cool down, because I know my son’s temper, I didn’t want to annoy him anymore. So I decided to clean up his wounds but as I started, I noticed that they were slowly healing and fading away. I told him that his wounds were fading away but he did not respond to me.
