In the delivery hut
The wind was smooth and rain fell silently as it hissed in the night. In a small hut, a woman was giving birth to a male child. Aching in pain as she pushed the child out, the minute the child’s head started to pop out, thunder and lightning started to make its was in the night. Once the child was born the rain ceased and the blood red moon shined even brighter. The animals became hostile, wishing that they can run away from this darkness that was overwhelming them.
There were two midwives in the room, one was holding the child while Mrs. Jones was holding the woman who was giving birth’s hand. This woman’s name was Masontaha, and Blq, who was already inhabiting the body of a midwife named Mrs. Jones.
As the child was held in the arms of the midwife, she showed signs of fear on her face, not knowing what her eyes was showing her however Blq could not help himself from revealing a smirk on his face.
The other midwife as she whispered to Mrs. Jones: “Do you see what I am seeing?”
Blq/Mrs. Jones: “Whatever do you mean?”
The other midwife: “Look…. Something is wrong with the child. Why is his hair and eyes red? And why is he not crying?”
Blq ignored her and quickly examined the child. The child had hair as red as blood and his eyes was red with black that showed the existence of the demon in him. The strangest thing about the boy was that he never cry after his birth.
Blq/Mrs. Jones: “My dear… you are just being paranoid. Nothing is wrong with the child. You do know that some children don’t cry after they are born. And the fact that his hair and eyes look red is because of the light color from the moon. It is red after all and trust me the child will look different in the morning.”
The other midwife: “Alright… I understand… but I can’t seem to shake of the feeling of fear in my heart.”
Blq/Mrs. Jones: “Stop saying things like this you are scaring Masontaha.”
Masontaha: “Is my baby alright?”
Blq/Mrs. Jones with a smile on their face: “Of cause my dear.”
Masontaha: “Then why is he not crying?”
Blq/Mrs. Jones: “He feel asleep while we were talking”
Masontaha: “Alright dear… let me see him”
Blq/Mrs. Jones: “Alright dear… Do me a favour and don’t get alarmed by the color of his hair and eyes. It is just the light from the moon and in the morning his hair and eyes will look different”
