It"s almost Thanksgiving and there sure hasn"t been much shooting done so far. The guys haven"t been out quite as much as in other years. It does get discouraging when there just aren"t many ducks or geese around. We haven"t had much waterfowl weather yet, either, but I can really tell that the duck numbers are way down. Todd and Steve have talked about that often. They said there is a terrible drought up in Canada and the Dakotas. They call that area the “Duck Factory”. A lot of the prairie potholes have dried up completely and the ducks just don"t have nearly the nesting areas they usually have and need. All the wetlands in that part of the country are really suffering. Until the drought is busted, the duck numbers are going to be down. But the number of geese seems to be on the incr
