Chapter 24 Decisions

1058 Words
The difference ministers and royal advisers where all at lost for words. They weren't sure what to make of the situation before them. Though they already knew what the current king wanted. "My fellow ministers. I would love to hear your honest opinions." "There is no doubt that those girls are in deed the children of Alice, but we already have a princess we don't need two more." Minister Vondre states trying to get on the kings good side. A smirk crept up on the King Altony's face when he heard the words spoken aloud. "You need to think about this carefully before you speak." Minister Aldenia said taking off her glasses for the fist time today. " This kingdom is their birth right, knowing that and purposefully denying them that could be considered treasonous." "Preposterous." Another Minister scoffs. Lord Alvern stood quietly watching as they conversed amongst themselves waiting for the perfect opportunity to speak on the girls behalf. But he had a feeling the head minister was already on their side and all he needed to do was convert the rest. Little did he know, the head minister was thinking the same thing. "Ministers I mean no disrespect, but you are al speaking nonsense. The throne is my daughter's birthright, since I am the current king." The king says with a small smile and the ministers go quiet thinking about it. The head minister wanted to grow but he could not show bias openly, unlike the other ministers. He had to remind mutual at all times, and he can not side with anyone but only do what is best. "Lord Alvern, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter." He leans forward, hoping to be intrigued by what and how Alvern would say what he had to say. "His opinions do not matter in here. He shouldn't be even be here." The king adds waving him off. "I have reason for him to be here, and your majesty be careful what you say and how you act. Remember you wrongly imprisoned Lord Alvern when he was only bringing a much needed truth to light." The minister warns him. This was a delicate situation and he hath to be dealt with carefully or it would reflect badly on the kingdom's ruling. But it seems as the head minister was the only one aware of this fact. "I know what some of you are thinking. And I know most of you are worried that this might turn out badly if things rule in the favor of the twins. But think of it this way, if there was no intruder in the castle, our dear queen Alice would still be alive today, ruling us with compassion like she always did. And the girls, they would have been crowed days ago and they would be in their rightful place as air's." "What are you trying to say?" The king asks Alvern. "I just highlighting a different scenario, your majesty." "If I may?" "Please continue." "Scenario two." Alvern continues. "From what the girls told me, they were both attacked simultaneously on the day they turned sixteen." "What exactly are you suggesting?" The head minister asks as this story peaked his interest. "Someone still wants the girls dead. There is undeniable proof of that. Listen closely, the girls were sent to a different dimension, they knew nothing of this world living in living in absolute bliss. They didn't even know of each other's existence. But someone sent assassins to capture or kill them? On their sixteenth birthday." "Sp your saying something from inside the castle was trying to off the princess?" Minister Aldena speaks fists. "And it had to be someone from inside the castle who was close to the royal family, since many did not know the queen was having twins." "Even us, the ministers did not know she was having twins." Vondre adds. "Hmmmm, this is a troubling troubling theory. But it does seen true none the less." The head minister concludes tapping his finger rhythmically on the table. "Why would someone go out of their way to kidnap or kill the princesses." He asks himself, trying to figure out what sense that would make. He knew their power could be useful but how did the person orchestrating the attack know about their power. From what he was told, Alissa's power didn't manifest until she was in danger. He let the thoughts roll around in his head, trying to see things from their point of view. But it didn't make sense to him. Unless, there were two separate enemies at work at the same time. If that was the case he would have to act quickly and carefully. And the girls needed to be kept safe at all times. But the castle had already been breached. Not to mention the war that was going on. Where would be a good place to keep them safe and train them at the same time? He asked himself this question over and over again. He knows that both girls are powerful and they could be the key to winning this war, but they would need to be trained how to use their powers properly. While being constantly protected. He could hear the other minster bickering along with the advisors but it let fade into the background as he closed his eyes focused himself. He tought about the different situations piece by piece, then he tought of them as a whole. Trying to figure out what was the right thing to be done. I tought long and hard, while trying not to frustrate himself it the process. He knows Alison has an ominous power in her, she just hasn't awakened it as yet, while Alissa lacked control of he's. So his main focus needed to be what's best for them. And not for the kingdom. He never thought he would see the day where he would have to put a single person nevertheless two before the kingdom. "I've made my decision. Summon the girls." "Already?" "But there is so much we do not know, and need to figure out." "I will only speak of my proposal once, everyone present will get a chance to vote whether they agree or not." "Fair enough." "And I doubt any of you would like to go against me."
