"The head minister has made his decision." A brunette maid told the girls with a deep bow. She gestured for them to follow her.
When the entered the room, the received various stares and glares from the ministers, but the haed minister had a black mask on as usual.
Many do not know this, but the head minister is the only person who can disobey the king, he is the only person the king answers to and can not rule over.
"I have made my decision and will present a proposal, those who agree will say I. And everyone in this room will have a chance to vote." He announces as soon the girls along with their guardians came to a stop.
"When you say everyone, you mean all of us too." Alison clarifies.
"Yes." He answers immediately.
"Why do they have a saying in this?" The king asks.
"You and I know that I am the only impartial person here. All the ministers and advisors are bias in one way or another. So to make this fair I will allow the princesses and their guardians to vote." He explains his plan.
Everyone in this kingdom knows that the Head minister must never be biased in any decision he makes or he will lose his position. It is his sworn duty to be mutual no matter what the cost.
"I propose that the princesses be sent to the Praxose Magical Academy, where they will endure three years of vigorous training. At the end of those three years they will be sent out to end this war once and for all."
"What?" Vondre aks.
"Lord Alvern's sons will be assigned to keep them safe along with Celia and Julia while attention the Academy." Various gasps where head around the room, but he continuedto speak."I have also decided that King Altony will stay king until the girls have come of age, then one of them will chosen to become queen."
"Become- queen." Alissa mumbles in shock. While Alison stayed quiet.
"This is my proposal, think carefully before you cast your vote."
"Why the Academy?"Johanna asks.
"Because the castle has been breached, they will be safe there." The head mister wastes no time in answering." Tells answers in a clipped tone. "Any more questions?"
"Why will they be sent out to fight in the war?" Alvern asks, with growing frustration.
"They are powerful, they could be exactly what we need to win this war."
"But that's where their father died! Are you sending these girls to their death?!" Alvern yells losing his temper.
He wanted the girls to be safe, but this outcome was the opposite of what he expected. To him, this sounded like sentencing them to their deaths.
"Watch. Your. Tone." His voice booms through the room silencing everyone in earshot. "My job is to be impartial honest, and unbiased in any and all decisions I make, and this is the way or kingdom has always been ruled. The strongest fighters and the most powerful elves have always been sent to the front lines."
"But Alison has no powers!" He continues to argue.
"Yes, she does." The head pauses to look at her. "You can't feel it because her power hasn't awakened yet, but I felt it. For a split second, and together they will have the power the decimate our enemies. Our army just has to hold out for a few more years."
Everyone knew that he can't lie, play favorites or be biased in any way because of the oath he took. And they knew not doubt him.
"We accept." Alison blurts out with determination in her eyes. She thought she was powerless, but hearing that she had powers of her own that were yet to be discovered lit a fire in her.
"We have to discuss this first." Alissa argued.
She grabbed Alissaby her shoulders beforeshe spoke her mind."This is what we came here for, to fight and avenge our parents and find out more about their deaths. The fact that one of us might become queen seems like a plus to me.
"Earlier today when the king gave his speech at the coronation, I felt lost and out of place. I started to wonder 'why did we really come here' and now I know why. We have a purpose. A reason to fight." Alison tries her best to convince Alissa.
"Your right. We accept." Alissa says as the fire spreads from her sister's soul to hers.
"Good." The minister says. He wanted smile when he saw the smirks that appeared on Celia's and Julia's faces but he had the keep his blank mask on until this meeting came to an end.
The truth is, the minister and Alice were close growing up and her admired her very much. So he wanted to keep the girls safe but in doing so he would be being biased, so he could no do better than the offer he made.
He found a way to keep them safe without being biased and putting their tremendous powers to use all at the same time.
"Those who agree say I." The king instructs.
Everyone in the room said I except for the king, minister Vondre and Lord Alvern.
"It has been decided. In one week's time, precess Alissa and princess Alison will become the Crowned princesses of The Kingdom of Elphine and it will be announced that the daughters of Alice where found. After making a few public appearance to gain the people's trust, the both of you will then be sent off to the academy at the beginning of the new semester. Where they will spend the next three years training and preparing to join the war." He spoke with such doubtlessness like this plan was nothing but certain to succeed.
As he finished he sentence the girls started celebrating by hugging each other, Celia and Julia were trying to act professionally but that ended when the girls pulled them in for a group hug.
With that the meeting came to an end and Alissa and Alison had their priorities set straight.
"What will happen to the kings daughter?" Alison asks out of nowhere.
"I'll leave that to you." The meanister tells her as he walks by.
Everyone left them in the room standing there, just hugging each other. But lord Alvern couldn't help but be worried for the girls.
He never wanted to girls to fight, because that's the way their father was killed. Fighting for a kingdom that wasn't rightfully his home.
He didn't want to spoil they girls mood, so he kept quiet about all of it and let them enjoy the moment.
But little did they knew tragedy was preparing to land a decisive blow.
