"com'mon!!!" "I'm trying-oof!" "Donavon...?" "I'm ok" Two young lads had naughtily snuck out from the chambers in the palace to watch the sunrise. Originally it wasn't the younger brothers idea, but the look of sheer joy was on his brother's face. Though born of different mothers, the boys had kinda gotten along quite well being heirs to their father's throne. It happened so subtle that even the king was shocked. Apparently, while the queen was still pregnant, the king ordered a prostitute under the influence of wine and slept with her. The harlot was one that not only bueatiful but wise as well though had been treated unfairly because of her expertise of work. Some time later she bore a son and brought him to the king pleading her case. The king took pity and took the boy. he was now named Donavon after a great king that ruled wisely among his people. "Come. We must get home in time for Father to show us the kingdom" The red head grumbled The older male was named Roderick. He was born before Donavon and was of royal blood. The Queen named him after the man that stood strong in one kings army, leading them to sweet victory. The two teens grew up together...smiling...laughing...yet deep down inside Roderick... a deep and burning jealousy had kindled for his blood brother...and despised him greatly. But didn't show it. If his father got a wiff of his green envy the most he'll get is a scolding and probroly a long lecture of watching what another has when he should build himself. Soon they had reached the stables panting and out of breath "Ah we made it. If I didn't pull your whoring as-" "Could you refrain from using such language?" Donavon cut him off clearly not liking what his 'brother' was going to say. It had always been like this, but Donavon learn to tolerate his brothers hurtful words. Since the truth about Donavon's mother was known, the spoiled red head would pester him...call him hurtful names and even told him that he didn't belong in the palace. Roderick didn't get a chance to shoot back as the king walked through the stable doors. "I see you boys are early" the king smiled warmly at them. as usual Donavon did his greeting. "good morning Sir. how did you sleep?" "Well my boy" the king said ruffling the young adolescent dark hair, to which Roderick growled lowly. He hated the fact that he wasn't shown this affection from his father. Being the royal heir to his throne why wasn't he treated in this way? He can only grit his teeth as his temper neared boiling point. "Get your horses. we'll be leaving shortly" the elderly man commanded as a servant bowed and went to fetch the kings chariot and horses. "When we reach the town I hope the people throw tomatoes at you, just like your mother" Donavon's breath hitched and his heart stung. he breathed in a shaky breath and tried not to bow to Roderick will to start crying in front of him. He glared before going to get his horse that was given to him a year ago, as a present from the king. Mainly because he would walk everywhere and not bother asking for a ride. So on his seventeenth birthday a stallion was given to him. It was a black horse...big and strong with large hooves and muscles. It neighed as Donavon came into sight trotting his front hoof in glee. "Hey there Black Smith" the dark haired male greeted softly trying to hold back a sob. The horse was intelligent and noticed something was wrong. it butt its head on Donavon's silently asking about his trouble. " Don't worry about me. We have to go now. We're gonna visit the town remember?" the male said patting the animals shoulder before mounting him. "it's just same old same old. You know how Roderick is..." the horsed scoffed in response and went forward as Donavon steered it to the palace entrance where the king and the spoiled brat waited. "I say, you took ages!! What were you doing? Puffing your skirt?" "I'm not gonna feed into your childish behavior." Donavon continued forward. "Why you-" "Roderick stand still. I don't want that behavior from either of you" Sadly it didn't appeased the red head and he full on started to chase that younger male...whom only looked back a second to see rage filled eyes gaining on him. he didn't wait to ask why and encouraged his own horse to move from the anger fox. The king groaned in annoyance wanting to smack both of them. "this was going to be a long day"
