My head throbbed as my alarm went off. The high-pitched scratching at my ears with a personal vengeance. Wait. I hadn't set an alarm. I sat up and groaned. I was sore. I looked around the hotel room. I was spread across the bed, while a still sleeping Brady was hunched over on a small armchair. I grabbed my phone and answered it. "Hello?" I said, trying to sound light I'd been awake for hours. Stealing the key off the desk, I slipped out the door in an effort to not wake Brady. "Danny!" John's voice was so loud in the speaker I yanked the phone from my ear. "Just calling to check in, loading the bus for the stadium right about now. Have you seen Brady?" He was uncomfortable with the question, I could practically hear him rubbing the back of his neck. "Yea, he's in the shower right now."
