Maria paid with cash , ignoring Anthony’s presence .
Enjoying the hostility , he waited , as soon as the waiter left , he said , “I was busy . Don't be upset !”
“You being alive is more upsetting .” She blurted. Today she had planned a fun dinner with her sister and she wouldn't let anything ruin it. 'Not even him .'
Giving an inward chuckle , Anthony slipped the card back into his wallet , murmuring , “Can’t survive a sharp tongue for long .”
With her parcel in hand , Maria exited the restaurant . The heart drummed in her ears as she was walking towards a taxi , praying that she doesn’t end up regretting it . ‘Can’t go back now , I can’t allow him to keep harassing me like this .’
