Stirring the spoon in the bowl of cereal , Maria spaced out . it was the day , “in two days” Anthony’s voice echoed in her ears like a prophecy of her doom . it was impossible to run form it this time , she forced herself to eat but it tasted like nothing . She could only eat a few spoons before she let go of the spoon . as the hours passed , the dreadful feeling was creeping up on her , slowly .
“It will go soggy , eat up .” Soumya said after watching her sister freeze with the breakfast bowl in front of her .
