You waited three days before returning to Houriya’s house. Mukhtar was sitting on the bench outside the garage, deep in thought, when you suddenly appeared. Provoking him a little, you said, “I bet you’re thinking of the past. Leave it alone a while in order to live in the present.”
“Do you think anyone can escape from his past?”
“I don’t know, but you are living proof that a person can escape from his present. You’re the one who told me just three days ago not to look back and to always look ahead.”
“Yes, because your future is ahead of you, but as for me, I’ve left my future behind me. Thus, you’re entitled to look ahead, and I’m entitled to look back.”
