13. The three of them had dinner together. The feigned politeness between the two men slowly shifted into rivalry. Gabi tried to steer the course of conversation for a while, and made jokes to alleviate the edges of certain dropped comments, but realized that right now – for the first time in years – she wasn’t in control of the situation.
