Dinner Time!

“I-I have a room?” I tried not to stare at her face as she helped grab my stuff and take me to a bedroom down the hall. I was able to go inside and close the door and just breathe. Just yesterday morning I thought I was going to my first day of a job that was going to change my life and I would get Cassie and have the family I always wanted. Now.. I’m in a house I don’t want to be in and will Cassie’s being adopted! I sobbed. I let it all out, having to live at Ms.Hammys and growing out of it and leaving Cassie all by herself. I hated it. I cried till my face felt swollen and my body became so tired I couldn’t do anything but close my eyes again. I laid down and closed my eyes. A loud knock sounded on the door and was frantically opened, hitting me in the process. I groaned as warm arms circled me and just by the smell I knew it was Sam. He ran over to the massive bed and sat me down all while scanning my body I assumed looking for injuries. He grabbed my cheeks gently and looked into my eyes and that’s when I saw how frantic he really was. “Luna! Are you ok? I felt so broken so I ran here. It’s the fastest I’ve ever ran!” Samuel was panting almost and held my cheeks even tighter like I would someone disappear. I don’t know what to say so I just look at him. His blue eyes wide and his blonde hair still ever in place despite his clothes looking like he ran a marathon. I grabbed his wrist and pulled his hands off my face, I cried to much in front of this man and he kept cradling my face like this I would do it again. I took a breathe in through my nose and put through my mouth. And just said “I’m adjusting Sam. These are big changes, I’m trying to keep up.” Sam kept his hands close enough to my body that I felt his warmth and wanted nothing more then to feel those hands around me. He’s kneeling in between my legs with me on the bed and if that sweet lady walked in I don’t know what she would tell Odin. Would he care? Why isn’t he here? “Where’s Odin?” Samuel without missing a beat said “he’s on his way, I’m just faster. I told him you’re safe so he may go back to the office, I’ll stay beside you. I-it’s hard for me to leave you if Odin isn’t here” Whatever that meant, he can be so cryptic! “I-I need to shower and then we can eat breakfast together?” Samuel laughed and helped me to my feet. “You mean dinner? And Ill be outside the door, let me know if you need anything.” Sam went to touch my cheek with his calloused fingertips but must have thought against it because he put his hand back down and his stern face snapped into place. He walked out and I went to go explore the bathroom that was the size of Ms.Hammys whole house. Showering felt so good on my sore muscles from sleeping on the floor. Speaking of sore muscles I needed to start my gym regimen again. When I was in Ms.Hammys I would wake up really early and sneak out for runs, I miss that feeling in my body. My lungs burning as I push myself to beat my previous run time as the sun is coming up. I’m going to run tomorrow morning, maybe Sam will run with me. Or..Odin? He’s so confusing. He doesn’t like me but is keeping me prisoner here, well am I a prisoner? I guess I haven’t tried to leave… I hurry in the shower then jump out and get dressed. I go to the living room and notice it’s empty so go for the front door where there’s an elevator. I look around and then go press the button, nothing happens. I keep clicking and clicking and finally the elevator opens and I rush in laughing, this elevator is huge and kinda dark. “Running away, pet?” Odin looked and sounded like something out of a fantasy. He was standing in the corner with his leg crossed, his coat draped over his arm, and a smirk that makes my body liquid fire. “Oh! Um-well-no! I mean, I guess I’m going down, but I’m allowed, I mean, I’m an adult and -“ Odin crossed the elevator while she was mid sentence and stopped right in front of her make her gulp. “If you aren’t scared you did something wrong, why is your heart beating out of your chest? Don’t get me wrong, it’s a delicious sight to see what heavy breathing does to your chest but still. Why are you nervous?” Odin was so close to her but not touching, his warm honey colored eyes staring into hers. She was surprised that even the smell of his breath made her wet and react. She wondered what he would taste like. “I’m going to go down then, since I’m allowed.” He stared at her and walked off saying “You don’t have a badge, it won’t go anywhere. Join us for dinner.” She chases after him furious! “I’m a prisoner! Just like I thought! This is hell.” She crossed her arms and stomped a foot, if she could breathe fire smoke would be coming out of her nose. “You will give me a badge, I’m an adult Odin and you can’t treat me like this!” She marched up to him in the kitchen and started poking him in the chest to emphasize each word. He grabbed her hands and pulled her close, whispering in her ear. “Pet, you are safe in this house and have no need to leave. Men have died from attempting to touch me and here you are poking the wolf. Should I set you free and chase you as punishment. I can’t picture you running though, you have fire and would probably ruin the fun and stay and fight.” His hot breath was tickling her ear sending shivers down his back and make in between her legs pool “Even though rolling around with you in a feisty mood sounds like a perfect evening.” Chills shot through her body! She wanted him so bad but she had never been with a man and she needed to constantly remind herself he said he doesn’t want a mate. She felt bold when she said “Ill have dinner with you on one condition, explain what mates are.” He raised an eyebrow but shook his head. She sat down at the table with Odin but realized Samuel was still standing guard by the door, that felt wrong. She stood up and without thinking grabbed his hand to bring him to the table “Samuel, you’re my only friend and I think you should eat with us.” Sam looked stunned and almost nervous and was stumbling to decline “Luna, I don’t think-I think this is a bad idea. You should eat with just Odin when he goes over this stuff.” She gave him a pouting face which to her surprise made him instantly cave, he made himself a plate and sat right beside her across from Odin. You would think they were mates. Odin looked pissed when she finally made eye contact, she should’ve spoke to him first. His fist were clenched on the table and his breathing was becoming faster even though you could tell he tried to look unaffected. His face instantly went back to the business mask then said “why don’t we discuss Gamma and Luna relationships as well.” She gulped, why did she get the feeling she just opened a conversation up she wasn’t ready for!
