Kai wasn’t nearly as strong as Nora was, but Nora was worn out from killing something that probably really did eat elephants for breakfast. And all of his hellionic cousins. No, that’s not a word, but she was too tired to think of a good word for lions with goat heads in their backs.
Nora looked into those night sky eyes and felt that anger reverberate through her body. “I hate you. I hate you! How could you do this to me!”
Kai’s wolf took a bite out of Nora’s shoulder, causing a scream to shoot out from Nora’s throat. It burned and she suddenly felt herself deflate after landing one more kick to the wolf’s stomach.
