“Alex,” Gabe’s eyes were on Kate while he addressed his brother. The goddess and their father left without another word and Alex clearly wanted to go after Nora. He was like a dog that had a need to itch a flea. “Please give us a minute.”
For whatever reason Alex chose this moment to hesitate to go after his own wife. “Gabe, are you going to be alright?”
What? Like he would hurt her? “Get. Out.”
“Katelyn? Do you want me to stay?”
Her eyes were on Gabe’s as well, ready for the challenge. “It’s alright. He won’t hurt me.”
After another agonizingly long minute of hesitation, Alex finally f*****g left.
