Her smile widened watching Gabe and Katelyn head into the diner where they were having lunch. Kate looked… well, exhausted, but still had a bit of a glow.
Gabe looked… bright, happy, and satisfied.
Raith ignored them and ate his dry toast.
Alex sipped his coffee, eyeing them both.
Nora decided to open her mouth. “Don’t you two look thoroughly f****d and satisfied.”
Alex spit his coffee into his cup and Raith choked on his dry wheat toast. Serves him right for not even dressing it with jelly or something.
“Nora,” Alex hissed from beside her.
She kept her eyes on the red-faced Katelyn and the smiling Gabe. Oh yeah. She remembered her awkward first time and then the couple of okay times after it.
Alex improved after a while.
