I wake up to the smell of bacon and eggs and my stomach gives an excited growl. Dear heavens, one would not say that I ate a mere couple of hours ago. I get out of bed and dash through the shower before I attend breakfast.
Martin and Joe are already there, eating in silence.
“Morning, guys,” I greet friendly. “Where’s Cecile?”
“I treated her to breakfast in bed,” Joe answers. “She doesn’t feel like facing anybody today.”
“Which is understandable,” I agree as I sit down and help myself to the delectable foods on display. “But you’ll have to convince her to get up and get dressed. Both of you need to be at this afternoon’s pack meeting when we inform Ember Moon of the events. They need to see her inner strength and dedication if you guys want their support and trust to lead.”
