{Adrienne’s POV}
I felt like every part of my body froze at what Madison said. Fear struck my heart as I recall my talk with Ethel about a certain enemy from the past attacking us, our family, and anything that we could use to fight back.
Whoever that person was, I know for certain that they were not just playing around. They mean business.
I looked at Madison in panic. “What are we going to do now?”
She looked deep in thought, probably thinking of our next move. Then, she looked at Ethel.
“Mom, go to your room, please, and never get out unless it’s me who knocks, okay?”
Ethel opened her mouth to protest, but this time, I didn’t stay quiet. This was serious, so we have to move fast.
“Madison was right, Ethel. Please, listen to us and trust your daughter.”
