I quickly stepped away from Cadmus and looked at the owner of the voice with wide eyes and a raging heartbeat. I wanted to slap my head in so much frustration for not being careful. I forgot that Cadmus and I could never be seen together.
I opened my mouth to explain, but when my eyes landed on the person who spoke, my panic and nervousness turned to disbelief.
“Skylar?”
“Lucas.”
