“You…smell different.”
Was the first sentence I heard after going inside the cabin with a basket that contained different kinds of food that I had sneaked out of the kitchen with the help of Felix, of course.
Madison followed me to the kitchen and just watched with her arms crossed as I placed the basket on the countertop. From my peripheral vision, I noticed her sniffing the air with a small frown on her face.
I bit my lower lip and tried my best to act normal while keeping my heartbeat steady. She cannot know…not yet.
