Asher's eyes locked onto Ember's, his mind racing with possibilities. The city's new development project was a massive undertaking, with billions of dollars at stake.
"What do you know about the project?" Asher asked, his voice firm.
Ember's eyes were hesitant, but she nodded. "I know that it's a huge deal," she said. "The city is investing a lot of money in it."
Asher's eyes narrowed. "And what's the Moranos' connection to it?" he demanded.
Ember's voice was barely above a whisper. "I'm not entirely sure," she said. "But I think they're trying to get a piece of the action."
Asher's eyes locked onto Ember's, his mind racing with possibilities. This was big, and Asher knew that he had to act fast.
He pulled out his phone and dialed a number, his eyes locked onto Ember's. "I need to make a call," he said.
As he waited for the person to pick up, Asher's eyes never left Ember's face. He was determined to get to the bottom of this, no matter what it took.
"Asher Blackwood," he said, his voice firm.
"Asher, it's Samantha," the voice on the other end said. "What can I do for you?"
Asher's eyes locked onto Ember's. "I need information about the city's new development project," he said.
Samantha's voice was cautious. "What do you want to know?" she asked.
Asher's eyes narrowed. "I want to know everything," he said.
As Samantha began to explain the project, Asher's eyes widened in shock. This was bigger than he had thought, and Asher knew that he had to act fast.
