“Get in there.” Rodney Steagel stumbled into the cell and stared back over his shoulder in disgust at the police officer who’d pushed him. He straightened his shirt indignantly and grunted his disapproval. How dare they treat him like this? He had rights. The police officer dismissed him with an unimpressed look and let the door slam shut. The loud clanging sound reverberated through the cell. It was a hollow sound, the death toll on a wretched existence. Rodney trembled at the power of his own imagery. He might as well be dead. What good had come out of his life?
