Meg nodded, obviously pleased by his reaction. “This is my favorite spot. I love everything here in my little world, but the field and the pavilion are both so open. I wanted some place hidden, safe. Even though it’s a cave, it’s not too closed off. Past the moss are the grass and open hills and shoreline, and past the waterfall is the expansive lake. So it’s open, but hidden at the same time.”
Meg walked over to the falls and sat by the pool, dipping her hand into the water and moving it about leisurely. The water lapped around her fingers. She always imagined the sensation of touching the water, but today she could swear the water was real. It was like seeing pictures of a place and then actually visiting for the first time. Everything was familiar, but new at the same time.
