The bank employee immediately checked Xavier’s card. Some people who were there were quite curious about the truth about Xavier’s black card. Mrs. Gob felt really embarrassed by this. Instead of denying it, in the end Mrs. Gob wrote down a number that was quite fantastic. Mrs. Gob thought that the nominal was not only for the price of the house that Mrs. Gob sold, but also her shame because of all the things that had happened.
