The two hours of making cards with the kids are over before I even realise it. At first, I found it hard to know what to do exactly, how to explain things to the kids, how they would respond to me. But after a while, it became easier. They were so welcoming and so excited to have someone else who was helping them, and it probably helped that they seemed excited about the cards too.
It became so much easier to know what to do, to communicate with them. Even though I never thought of myself as a teacher, I can definitely see why Kara loves it so much. Watching those kids enjoy themselves, watching them have such joy working on the cards, and the joy they have from learning new things. The bright way that they’re chatting with each other or just the way that they experience
