She could feel her body all tensed at the sight of him, it felt like it was just the two of them in the room, and if only eyes could kill, they would have killed themselves.
He on the other hand was seething with anger.
She felt naked on his gaze
"What the hell is he doing here?!!
"Calm down Kath, do you know him? "
"Unfortunately yes, he's the guy I met at MILLS today, the hypocrite," she said fuming
"Oh my he's a hottie" Before Vanessa could finish rolling out those words, Kath shot her the death stare and she kept quiet.
"Geez, my mood is spoilt already "

"What's the problem, Boss"?
"I believe we've extended our greetings to Lucas, let's leave" He made for the door and left
Johnny ran after him
"Hold on man, I know we agreed on leaving early, but this is too early come on"
"I saw her, I saw the witch"
"Who's that?
"The lady that threw a coffee at me"
Johnny tried to seize his laughter but he couldn't control it and busted out with laughter
"Mahn, you should have shown me her, I would love to see her, oh my, don't you think this is fate?
Liam punched his stomach teasingly
"Shut up! You should better stop spewing nonsense, let's go.
They got into the car and left.

"So you want to leave because of the guy Kath? Of course not. Don't let him ruin your day girl
"That's right girl, cool off" Vanessa concurred
"You know what? you guys are right, I won't let that i***t ruin my day, let's dance!!!!

They hit the dancefloor once again, swirling their bodies, laughing at the top of their voices.

"Geez Vanny take it easy, you're drunk, hold her firmly Mira.
They waited for a while before their ride came in and they left.
At home, they slumped on the floorspace, worn out, they passed out, their bags everywhere, it was a mess.

Turn it off Mira, turn it off…..
It's your phone, your ringing tone Mira replied sleepily
Katherine reached for her phone and answered the call.
"Hello," she said drowsily
"Hello," a man's voice said at the end of the line. "Is this Miss Katherine Gray"?
"Yes, who's this"?
"This is John, I'm calling you from Hemsworth, you applied for our company, and I'm glad to inform you that you've been accepted"
"Me? why? how"?
"Excuse me"?
"I'm sorry, I meant to say thank you, thank you" she repeated profusely
"You're expected to be at work before 7:30 on Monday, have a nice day"
The call was dropped before she could say "You too".
"Arghhhhhhh" Katherine shouted in joy and jubilation waking up her friends.
"What's wrong? what's wrong? Vanessa ran to the kitchen and came back with a frying pan" scanning her eyes all over
"I've gotten the job!!!, guys I've been accepted!!!
"What!!!, geez congratulations Kath
They congratulated her, laughing, jumping, in immense jubilation
They held each other's hands and encircled jumping up in excitement.
"This calls for a celebration guys" Vanessa stated
"Yes yes Vanny," Mira said
"We're going out to have fun later today guys"
Katherine nodded in excitement.

"Where's Mum"?
"Good morning to you too"
Katherine rolled her eyes.
"Mum went out"
"Okay," she made to walk to her room but rushed towards Jordan. He tried to avoid her thinking she wanted to hit him
But she hugged him
"My handsome, cute little brother" She kissed his cheek ruffling his hair
"Ew, did you brush yet? He asked wiping off the kiss and fixing his hair
"Oh I know you love it when I kiss your cheek, stop pretending baby bro" she giggled
"You wish, what's got you excited this morning? Did you win the lottery?
"Yes"!!
"Geez you scared me", he said with his hand on his chest.
"I've finally been accepted, Hemsworth gave me the job"
"What? Oh my God, I'm so happy for you, he beamed, mum would be so proud of you
"I know yeah, thank you"
"Let's go out and have fun"
"Aww, I'm too tired, she said making a face, I want to rest"
"Take your puppy face away from me, and stop calling me your baby bro, I'm a full-fledged adult, a grown man"
"I won't stop" she replied to him running towards her door laughing
He stared at her

Later that day
The three went to MILLS for lunch, they sat chatting, Vanessa was talking about her Boss, and how evil she was. She's a flight attendant, a very hardworking one but it happened to be that her Boss was a very cunning one. She had promised Vanny a promotion as a purser but never kept to her promise. She had worked her ass off but only got nothing in return.
"She's a witch, but what can I do?
I just have to keep striving, she may keep to her promise someday.
"Someday? I retorted. Geez she had better keep to it soon cause you're one hell of a worker" I added encouragingly, She smiled at that
"What about you, how's your song coming up"?
"Well not bad, I'm almost done with the song, I have a new contract coming up
"That's great girl, congrats Katherine said
"Congrats honey" Vanessa added
"The usual Ruth"
That sentence rang a bell and she turned quickly to see if it was him and obviously, it was and not in the queue. "I wonder what he sees himself as," I thought to myself.
"Oh my, what a guy" Vanessa was saying
"Yeah, he looks good"
"That's him guys, the one I spilled coffee on"
Vanessa clapped
"Yeah that's him"
"Always not in the queue," Katherine said fuming
"Girl leave him alone," Mira said
"Nah, I'm not going to give him my time today, I don't want to ruin my mood".
She turned to look at him again, their eyes meeting, she rolled her eyes at him.
He shook his head, walking away.
"You know he looks familiar," Vanessa said
"I already told you"
"No, I think I've seen him somewhere. Anyway, let's talk about you, Kath. Is any guy catching your eyes again?
"You know I don't have time for such," Katherine said faking a smile
They both understood and changed the topic.

Monday came and she was already dressed and was about to leave
"Don't tell me that's what you want to wear for your first day at work"
"Of course it is, go away," she said rolling her eyes
"I won't be surprised if they send you back"
"Screw you, Dan"
"Mom I will be leaving now," she said to her who nodded telling her to take care of herself.
As she walked into the entrance of the building, she heard some murmurs, some employees darting their eyes towards her, giggling and whispering.
She caught some phrases
"She won't last here" "Give her a week"
"Zero fashion sense"
"Ohh if it's me you guys are talking about. I'm sure gonna prove you all wrong, cause I'm not leaving here"
She thought to herself and got on the elevator heading to the third floor.
There she met Johnny, he was sorting some files when she met him and when he saw her he welcomed her. Guiding her to her desk.
She was told that she was the secretary to the Boss. That initially wasn't what she had applied for but John explained it all to her and she was more than grateful that she was given the secretary position.
"You can go in now, Mr.Liam wants to see you," John told her, ushering her in
"Alright, thank you, sir"
Katherine knocked before going in. Her head was down as she walked in.
She was halfway to his desk before he scowled
"What are you doing here?!
She raised her head immediately facing him, in shock and total disbelief, her mouth open.
