I asked you a question," he asked her coldly. Katherine wished that the ground would open so that she could jump in. The embarrassment was much for her, she hadn't expected any of this. Her enemy was right in front of her, as her Boss?

Talk about ill luck, she felt her knees grow weak but she mustered up the courage to say something at least.

"I believe I was accepted in this company and I'm your new secretary " She stared at him in anger, he too was filled with fury

"Get out of my office now"

"Excuse me"?

He looked at her arrows shooting out of his eyes

"You heard me, leave"

Johnny came rushing in

Katherine left immediately, mortified.

"What's the problem, Boss"?

"Why is she here, who the hell recruited her here"?

" I don't get you, she was the one you approved of last week, don't you remember "

He shook his head in regret coupled with annoyance. He heaved a long sigh

" She's the witch, she was the one that threw the coffee at me, gosh how could I be so stupid not to have at least gotten a background check on her"

Johnny couldn't hold in the laughter anymore, so he burst out in laughter, even Liam's serious face couldn't get him to stop. When he eventually did he told him that this could be fate, when he noticed that he was not in that mood, he toned up seriously.

"Boss we can't do anything about this, we can't fire her, she has already signed the contract, we can't terminate it so easily, just give her a chance. Besides, you were the one that liked her portfolio and recruited her, besides she doesn't seem like your previous secretaries. She's smart and competent as your secretary. Just get the past behind you".

Liam gave some thought to what Johnny said, and concluded on his own, that he would let her stay but would make it hell for her, that she would quit on her own.

Katherine had gone to the stairs to break the news to her friends, she was talking to them through Facetime

"Oh my! Seriously Kath, wow what a small world, could this be fate? Vanessa giggled.

"Well, you don't expect that he would talk nicely to you, you threw a coffee at him. People like him hardly get any ridicule from people so I believe it must have bruised his ego, Mira added

" that's his business, I'm not going to crawl to him and beg for forgiveness, I didn't do anything wrong"

"So what will you do now, don't tell me you want to quit"

"Of course not, I won't"

"You know what, I think it's best you just apologize to him, you know this job means a lot to you," Vanessa said to her

" well I have an idea, guys"

When she returned to her desk, Johnny was already there, waiting for her, he admonished her, and he told her that he had settled it with him. She should just carry out her job diligently and should try not to provoke him, he said with a laugh. He walked away after.

Katherine could have barely sat down when she got a call from him demanding her to come to his office. Before she could reply, he had cut the call.

She knocked and went in, he had snapped at her, telling her to knock twice and await his response before she came in.

"I don't like it that you're working here, your contract here is 3 months before it gets renewed but I won't let you complete that cause I would make you quit, at your disposal.

She had caught him off guard by apologizing for what happened in the past, she pleaded that he forget about it all and that they should go on with their lives, peacefully. He didn't accept her apology, claiming that he doesn't forgive.

She left his office beaming with smiles

"I'm glad you didn't accept the apology, Mission one accomplished"

She was about to sit down before she got a call from him again, she walked to his door, knocked twice, and awaited his response and when he finally did. She went in, Books thrown at her feet

"I want those sorted out before 5 pm today, you may leave".

"But 5 pm is too early boss, this is a whole lot"

"Does that mean you can't do it and you're incapable of this job"?

She smiled and picked up the books

"Of course sir, I will be done by 5 pm, excuse me" she left.

When she got to her desk, she hit the books on her desk cursing under her breath.

"What a devil", she thought to herself.

"If you think I'm going to back down, you're joking, I'm going to show you that Katherine Gray doesn't back down without a fight," she said darting her eyes towards his office.

"I heard Mr. Liam doesn't like his new secretary, I overheard Maya saying to the others, well I don't like her, how can she be given the privilege to see him every day? She doesn't know how lucky she is.

Katherine overhead them talking about her, she shook her head in disbelief wondering if they were blinded by something, cause why were they talking about him in such a pleasing manner? That hypocrite. "Oh they could have him to themselves gosh", she thought

"Oh guys I heard something else, she was also given her first task, I doubt she could finish that, she would soon join the others.

Let's make a betting guys if she could finish it up"

" I won't, 'cause I'm not in support of her, she will lose" They giggled talking more about her and Mr.Liam

And she loathed him more for making her the enemy here.

Well she consoled herself, she was going to prove all of them wrong cause she sure would get the job done before 5 pm

And she would be thrilled to see their reactions, especially his.
