The firm's power was out. Addison Harper was searching the junk drawer for a flashlight when she heard a creaking, coming from her bedroom. She turned her head, crying out at the sudden noise. After standing there for about a minute, frozen in terror, she crept toward her hopefully empty room. As soon as she reached it, she flicked on her light switch and screamed as her morbidly spoiled cat, Mochi, ran across the room. She breathed out, and smiled, petting the harmless creature.

"You scared me, kitty." She said with a giggle. She heard a faint hissing, but dismissed it quickly, thinking nothing of it. Her giggle soon turned into a silent cackle, and she couldn't stop laughing! What's going on?! I can't breathe! She went for the now closed door of her room, trying to get to her kitchen. The curious cat followed her, meowing loudly. Just as she made it to the kitchen, Mochi padded in front of her, expecting food, and she tripped. She smacked her head on the corner of the kitchen counter, leaving a splatter of blood. As she laid there, bleeding out, Mochi walked to her. Her last image was that of him lapping up her blood.
