Chapter 2

3172 Words

Chapter 2 Mornings, now, were a little different now that Becky had adopted a tiny black kitten who thought the world revolved around her. Becky soon learned that before anything else could happen for the day, Celia had to be fed first. She didn't regret adopting a cat. The tiny presence made her store and home feel a little less lonely and empty when she was alone. Celia would climb onto Becky’s bed to wake her up, curling up on her chest underneath Becky's blanket. They were going through a little bit of a cold snap, and the winter nights were unbearable. When her alarm would go off, Becky would realize her cat was on her chest, and she would pull herself up only to have Celia make her protests and demands. She would put on a pot of coffee and fill bowls of water and food for Celia.
