Chapter 4

2843 Words

Chapter 4 It was the Tuesday after the festival where her store was a little busier than usual. She was still riding on the business she had made at the festival and a lot of new people were coming in. LJ was showing a customer around and Becky was seated behind the cash register, cashing customers out. It was a very busy day and she was grateful for it. "Mr. De Witt," Becky was saying to the old man in front of her. "Mrs. De Witt will love this, great choice." Becky had never met Mrs. De Witt. She was sure that Mrs. De Witt didn't exist, but Mr. De Witt was an elderly man who often told war stories that Becky couldn't be sure were true or not. He had a habit of embellishing, Mickey had told her, and telling the same stories over again. But he was nice and funny, and Becky liked that.
