Chapter three
Kathryn's POV
Suddenly, he stopped in front of her and pulled out a small box from his pocket. He opened it, revealing a delicate silver necklace with a small pendant.
"Put this on," he said, holding out the necklace.
Kathryn hesitated, unsure of what to do. But he wasn't giving her a choice. He reached out and fastened the necklace around her neck, his fingers brushing against her skin.
The pendant felt cold against her skin, and Kathryn couldn't shake the feeling that it was more than just a simple piece of jewelry.
As he stepped back and admired her, Kathryn felt a sense of unease. She knew that she was trapped, that she had to play along if she wanted to survive.
But for how long?
Kathryn couldn't shake off the feeling of unease as she felt the weight of the necklace around her neck. She had no idea what it meant or what its significance was, but she knew it couldn't be good.
As he turned to leave, Kathryn felt a surge of fear. What was she supposed to do now? Was she supposed to stay in this room, waiting for him to return?
"Wait," he said, turning back to her. "I'll be back soon. Don't try to remove the necklace. It won't do you any good."
Kathryn nodded, feeling a sense of dread wash over her. She had no intention of trying to remove the necklace, not yet anyway.
As he left the room, Kathryn was left alone with her thoughts. She looked around the room, taking in every detail. She knew she had to find a way out, but how?
The room was small, with no windows and only one door. The walls were plain and unadorned, with no hidden passages or secret doors.
Kathryn's eyes fell on the mirror, and she felt a shiver run down her spine. There was something about the mirror that seemed off, something that didn't quite feel right.
She stood up and approached the mirror cautiously. As she looked into its depths, she saw her own reflection staring back at her. But there was something different about her reflection, something that didn't quite match the reality.
Kathryn's eyes fell on the necklace, and she felt a surge of anger. She knew she had to find a way to remove it, to break free from its hold.
But how?
As she stood there, lost in thought, Kathryn heard a faint noise coming from the mirror. It was a soft whisper, a gentle voice that seemed to be calling to her.
Kathryn's heart skipped a beat as she realized that the mirror might not be just a simple reflective surface. It might be more.
And then, everything went black.
When Kathryn came to, she was lying on the floor, her head throbbing with pain. She had no idea how she got there or how long she had been unconscious.
As she struggled to sit up, Kathryn noticed that the room was darker than before. The candle had burned out, and the only light came from a small moonlit window that she hadn't noticed before.
Kathryn's eyes widened as she realized that the window hadn't been there before. She was certain of it.
She stumbled to her feet and approached the window. As she looked out, she saw that she was on the second floor, and the window was locked.
But Kathryn's attention was drawn to something else. Outside, she saw a figure standing in the shadows. It was a woman, tall and imposing, with piercing green eyes.
The woman's gaze met Kathryn's, and Kathryn felt a jolt of electricity run through her body. There was something about the woman that seemed familiar, something that drew Kathryn to her.
As Kathryn watched, the woman raised a hand and beckoned to her. Kathryn felt a surge of hope mixed with fear. Was this woman here to help her, or was she helping the alpha to keep her hostage.
Without thinking, Kathryn tried the window again, this time finding that it opened easily. She climbed out onto the fire escape, her heart pounding in her chest.
The woman was waiting for her below, her eyes gleaming in the moonlight.
"Come with me," the woman said, her voice low and husky. "I'll help you escape."
Kathryn hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. But something about the woman's words resonated with her. She took a deep breath and followed the woman down the fire escape.
As they reached the ground, Kathryn felt a sense of freedom that she hadn't felt in a long time. Maybe, just maybe, she had found a way out of this nightmare.
But as they walked away from the house, Kathryn couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched. She looked back over her shoulder, and her heart sank.
He was standing in the window, his eyes fixed on her with a cold, calculating gaze.
Kathryn's heart racing, she turned back to the woman. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
The woman smiled, her eyes glinting in the moonlight. "My name is Aria," she said. "And I'm here to help you get you out of here”, Kathryn's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions. "Do you know me and how do you know I'm in this room?" she asked, her voice firm but cautious.
Aria's smile grew wider. "Let's just say I have my ways. But for now, we need to focus on getting you out of here. We can't stay in one place for too long."
Kathryn nodded, still trying to process everything that was happening. She followed Aria through the winding streets, her senses on high alert.
As they walked, Aria told Kathryn more about herself. She was a member of her father's pack and recently her alpha and his mate has been depressed for up to three years now, so she decided to help Kathryn escape at least for her alpha to be happy. Because she dedicated her life to serve the alpha so she came here without the alpha's knowledge.
Kathryn listened intently, her hope growing with every step. Maybe, just maybe, she could finally be free.
But as they turned a corner, Kathryn saw a figure waiting for them. Her heart sank as she recognized the man who had been holding her captive.
"Looks like we have company," Aria said, her voice cool and collected.
Kathryn's instincts screamed at her to run, but Aria stood her ground. "Let's see what he wants," Aria said, her eyes locked on the man.
Alpha Ryker sneered at Aria. "You think you can take her away from me? She's mine, she is my slave and she is going no where”.
Aria's smile was icy. "I don't think so."
Without warning, Aria lunged at alpha Ryker's men who came to guard him, and the two of them clashed in a flurry of movement. Kathryn watched in shock as Aria took down the man with ease.
"Come on," Aria said, turning to Kathryn. "We need to get out of here, now."
They both heard laughter echoing" you think you could leave the easy.
Kathryn was shocked and immediately she heard a bullet sound before they could respond it had hit Aria. Aria fell on the floor screaming in pain.
Kathryn was scared, she rushed to where Aria laid she saw the silver bullet inserted into Aria's heart and her it was burning her.
Tears dropped from her eyes, before she knew she was draged by two guard's.
And a guard with gloves and a silver rod walked to Aria and pierced it into the hole the bullet opened.
Aria's voice was heard every where in the pack.
