The Bowels of Stoughlin, Level 18-25 Mobs. Our Captain Has Gone Bonkers...!!!

1584 Words
27th December 1018 / 2018 2330hrs "Welcome to The Bowels of Stoughlin, guys. This is a multilevel catacomb where there would be up to 6 underground levels. Gather around now, I would like to brief you on the mobs that we would be facing here." "Furthermore, there would be a Lich on the surface near the entrance of the catacomb that would give out a unique quest randomly every 30 minutes or so. In this way, you may get to lay your hands on the wooden or leather-bound chests that lay hidden and obscure inside." "However, tonight, we would not be going after the quests, but we would be grinding the mobs from one level right to the bottom level. As I had mentioned before the Levels are from 18 to 25 so, WarPriestess, your job would be casting spells on the Chiefs underground." "That undead, when they receive healing cast, weakens them tremendously. There is no need to Tank the mob as they come, Snowball. You and Crusader, along with ShadowDancer and DragonFire would take centre stage and kite them first before PuppetMaster would employ his Ring of Fire to surround the mob." "We will try to avoid head-on or face to face combats because of the difference in levels between them. However, you would be able to make the last kill. Lastly, MageHunter will deploy his Arc Lightning that would be able to hit adjoining enemies as well." "That's your ACTIVE spells, am I right, MageHunter? The long-range offensive would always stay back, while the 4 of you, would rotate to kite and keep them bunched up together. Is that understood?" I finally concluded the speech that I need to deliver to the guys. Earlier I had explained to them the purpose of handling mobs which are at least 10 levels above them, and they finally understood the reasons. "Yes, Captain, that's my ACTIVE Arc Lightning spells, and I could deploy them all night long without depleting my mana pool at all. I had learnt from you on what attributes I should allocate the points, and I dumped nearly 90% of it. Hehe, at least now, nothing should stand between our way, am I right, Snowball?" "Yeah, that's right? I cannot wait to bash them with my shield when I kite them later on. Those mobs would not get past Crusader and me as long as we are standing firm on the ground." Snowball highlighted to me as Crusader, and he stood there in front of me with their arms on each other shoulders like life-time buddies. Well, they had gone through thick and thin together, and I am sure they had been friends for quite some time now. "Alright, guys. Think about other's safety first and study their movements. Remember, the monsters that I mentioned were Level 18 to 25, but their Chiefs would be 1.5x or 2x multiplier. Drops are plenty. Come in one piece and exit in one piece as well. Once you're ready, let's head out to the entrance of the Catacombs now." Everyone readied their weapons, and we proceeded to the catacomb entrance that seemed to entice everyone to enter. The Lich looked at us under its hood, and some of the members shuddered when they saw the skeletal remains underneath the hooded robe. "Eww...there's a bug peeking out from one of his eye socket lah. Is that a cockroach or some kind of beetle? E E E W W W ...!!!" DragonFire, the Ranger pointed out as she hugged her longbow for dear safety. We all looked at her and laughed since she can be fearsome when facing enemies but turned squeamish when she saw a bug. Hahaha...! I wondered if WarPriestess would start running about if she saw mice and rats scampering about the floor. Hahaha...! We entered the catacombs and pushed open a crypt door to enter the first level of the unknown. For me, this area is easy to manage since the skeletal there are easy to be dominated. They have no aggro influences, and they would come and storm towards anything that moves. One skeleton moves, every one of them would follow through. It would be like playing bowling underground here on the first level. The crypt opened up, and the 8 of us stepped onto the mulchy and moss-covered ground. The first thing that greeted us was the darkness since we did not bring any artificial light along with us at all...!!! But of course, there was luminous lichen on the walls of the catacomb that illuminated the area after several minutes. "This place is sooooo icky. My goodness...I've got water in my darn boots now...!" ShadowDancer squealed out and was tiptoeing around the floor. He discovered that it was rather pointless since the dampness is everywhere...! "What kind of smell is that? My Gosh... I never smelt something as rotten as my week old fart...! It's so fumigating, and we need to clear the area as soon as we can...!" Crusader pointed out as PuppetMaster joked that the fart would be one of the ACTIVE skill that can be used as a NUKE. Hahaha...! Basically anyone within the smell radius of the fart would die - dropped equipment, lost EXP as well as the ability to think straight after smelling that awful stink..! From the corner of my eyes, I saw the undead was beginning to stir awake. The commotion made by the members woke up these damnations. I didn't know that these skeletal remains would still be able to use its aural to listen to movements...! "Heads up. Undead incoming. Level 18. Decapitate them...!" I hollered out as Snowball, Crusader, DragonFire and ShadowDancer took their positions. They formed a diamond-shaped formation and Snowball was the one at the tip of the diamond. LEVEL 18 MOBS FACED BY LEVEL 8 GAMERS...!!! If others witnessed what our members were doing, they would definitely s**t in their pants...! The members had only one piece of Ordinary equipment and Weapon on them since we had cleared the HELLISH MODE of The Phoenix Delves Dungeon of Hamcona Timberland Forest. PuppetMaster, MageHunter and I were in the middle of the diamond formation as Snowball, took over and contained the mob from entering the protective form that they formed. Earlier, we discussed that we would not be tanking the mob, but in the end, instead of kiting them away, Snowball began to face the mobsters. *C L A N G* *C L A N G* *B A S H* *B A S H* *B A S H* A horde of Skeletal Warriors wielding blunt longsword came charging forward, and Snowball tanked them with ease and bashed with his shield. Crusader on his left cleaved in rhythm when Snowball started his new shield attacks. No special skills were needed in this hack and s***h action, and even ShadowDancer began dancing around the back of the horde and sliced his daggers through them like paper. DragonFire began to unleash her arrows whenever she could, and everyone could notice a significant difference in their newly acquired weapons. WarPriestess tested out her healing skills and aimed at the Skeletal Warriors, and it froze on the spot before MageHunter used his Arc Lightning and obliterated the Skeletal Warriors. "F O R . T H E . H O N O U R" Crusader swung his two-handed Honor's Call, Blessed Blade of Holy Might and used its skill and bashed the skulls of those Skeletal Warriors as it flung across the catacomb. ShadowDancer then finished up hers with 'E V I S C E R A T E" that literally broke the skeletons apart. "Everyone...! Move back...!" MageHunter called out as he swung his staff high in the air and deployed Arc Lightning. Ever since everyone had levelled up, their activations of skills and spells happened to be two-fold. *A R C . L I G H T N I N G* MageHunter unleashed his spell and it zapped the remaining Skeletal Warriors who were standing on their feet. To avoid friendly fire, MageHunter had to warn the others before he could unleash his inner beast. *B Z Z Z T* *B B B Z Z Z T T T* *B B B B Z Z Z Z T T T T* All the Skeletal Warriors had no other way to escape but had to stand their ground and accept their demise. The whole place lighted up as arcs of lightning hopped from one skeletal warrior on to the next. In a few moments, there was nothing left except for broken bones, dropped weapons and credits. "Take those weapons and bones as well. There's a quest that required you to collect 100 bones for an exchange of a loot chest from the Lich. You can exchange it once we had cleared all the levels in this catacomb." The 7 members gladly followed my instructions as they gathered up the useless bones that no merchant would trade for it. This is a loophole. Once we had gathered all the resources needed for the 6 quests that the Lich would hand out individually, we just exchange it accordingly, and I knew that these guys really would like to have more weapons and pieces of armour to their collection. "Captain, you are really a smart BETA TESTER, and we hope to see this Guild up and running when the time comes." one of the members praised me as they went about to collect the bones, and stored them in their inventory. "Yeah, that's the way it should be, my dear friends. If you are here to stick with me, you will benefit for a long time."
